Chautauqua's greatest gift is our sense of community. A major gathering place of our membership is the swimming pool. The availability of a fully functional swimming pool for the duration of the entire official season adds value to each leasehold. Our 65 year-old pool faces maintenance and structural issues going forward that could affect its continued use in the years to come. The following survey should take fewer than five (5) minutes and will provide invaluable information around support for a new pool. EACH LEASEHOLD IS ENTITLED TO ONE VOTE SO PLEASE COORDINATE AMONGST THE LEASEHOLDERS IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD TO GENERATE A SINGULAR VOTE PER LEASEHOLD.

What is the maximum amount your leasehold would be willing to spend annually over 7 years for a new pool?  Each amount assumes that the capital fund would be used to fund about $400,000 (at the current level of assessment) of the total cost and that the capital fund contribution would be eliminated and replaced by an assessment to pay the construction costs.
How soon would you like to see a new pool in place?
Should contributions to the capital fund (currently $500/year) be increased to offset the future cost of a pool?
If yes (to the question above), by how much per year would you consider reasonable during the pre-construction period so that the loan amount would be lowered somewhat once construction could begin?
